Originally used to make cheese in early twentieth century Switzerland, this enormous copper vessel (5' 9'' diameter) would make a stunning water feature for a backyard garden or patio. The vat was made by Hochstrasser & Sohn in Lucerne, Switzerland, the epicenter of Swiss Emmental cheese production, in 1937. In all our travels, this is by far the largest copper vessel we found anywhere. Its patina is stunning, and the dimensions of the piece make it a veritable focus point for any sophisticated garden.
